A padel court is a 20 × 10 metre rectangle enclosed by walls. These are all its measurements, the same ones we used to build the court in Padelbang, so the ball comes off the walls like on yours.
Floor measurements
| Element | Measurement |
|---|---|
| Total length | 20 m |
| Width | 10 m |
| Each half | 10 × 10 m |
| Service line | 6.95 m from the net (3.05 m from the back) |
| Centre service line | splits the area between the net and the service line into two 6.95 × 5 m boxes |
| Line width | 5 cm |
The net
- 88 cm high in the middle.
- 92 cm at the ends, by the posts.
- It spans the full width of the court (10 m).
The walls
| Area | Material | Height |
|---|---|---|
| Back | Glass | 3 m |
| Back, above the glass | Metal mesh | up to 4 m |
| Sides, next to the back (2 m) | Glass | 3 m |
| Sides, next 2 m | Glass | 2 m |
| Rest of the sides | Metal mesh | 3 m (with 1 m more mesh next to the back) |
That is why padel has areas of clean rebound (glass) and dead rebound (mesh). Explained in the walls and the fence.
The doors
Courts have two side entrances, one on each half, next to the net. On courts with “exits”, players can run out through them to chase a ball that escapes x3 or x4.
Padel court vs tennis court
A padel court takes up about a third of a tennis court: about three padel courts fit in the space of one tennis court. We compare the two sports in padel vs tennis.
